South Texas High School for Health Professions (Med High)

Med High, also known as South Texas High School for Health Professions, is a public high school located at 700 Med High Drive in the Rio Grande Valley city of Mercedes, Texas. The school has about 800 students enrolled from grades 9-12, 95% of which are minorities. Med High is a magnet school that aims to provide students with rigorous academic instruction and advanced technical skills that will allow for their successful transition into allied health careers and/or post-secondary education. The school is rated by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top 40 high schools in Texas.

    


 

Mercedes High School

Mercedes High School is a public high school located at 1200 Florida Avenue in the Rio Grande Valley city of Mercedes, Texas. The school has about 1000 students enrolled from grades 9-12 and almost 100% of the enrolled students are minorities. It has a burgeoning STEM Academy that helps to empower students with the skills required to obtain a post-secondary education in a STEM-related field. This is in line with the goals of the MENTORS Project.
